Milano, 17 settembre. Molto amata in Spagna e presentata già dalla stampa internazionale come l'artista da tener d'occhio del 2018 soprattutto dopo la sua esibizione all'ultimo Sònar, Rosalìa annuncia l'uscita del suo atteso secondo album, “El Mal Querer”, per il 2 novembre. La cantante di Barcellona ha scritto i testi e le musiche e ha anche co-prodotto l'album insieme a El Guincho.
Con l'album di debutto “Los Ángeles”, Rosalìa aveva già ricevuto il Best New Artist Latin Grammy e aveva già dimostrato la capacità di riuscire a creare un mix unico tra le più classiche influenze del flamenco e i suoni urban più contemporanei. Ultimamente il suo suono e il suo stile sono diventati ancora più particolari, anche grazie ai video pioneristici di “Malamente” e “Pienso En Tu Mirà”, e la fan base spagnola di Rosalìa è cresciuta enormemente, come in un secondo momento quella di livello internazionale.
Tra i fan di Rosalìa si possono annoverare anche Pharrell Williams, Khalid, J Balvin, Juanes, Romeo Santos, persino Pedro Almodóvar è stato conquistato dall'indubbia qualità dei video e ha scelto di far debuttare in veste di attrice nel suo nuovo film “Dolor y Gloria” la cantautrice ventiquattrenne al fianco di Penélope Cruz.
«El Mal Querer rappresenta il modo in cui io intendo il flamenco oggi», ha raccontato Rosalìa, «ho lavorato due anni interi della mia vita su questo progetto, costruendolo senza fretta. Mi ha aiutato a migliorare e a crescere come musicista, compositrice e produttrice, e per questo sono grata. Il mio sogno è sempre stato quello di condividere la mia musica con le persone e queste sono canzoni create proprio per tutti».
In attesa di pubblicare il suo album, Rosalìa è al momento negli Stati Uniti dove si è già esibita al Hollywood Bowl a Los Angeles e in uno showcase per i Latin Grammy a Miami con Juanes.
